USTA Kansas players have been flocking to the ultrapopular mixed tri-level league in cities across Kansas. Teams from Salina, Topeka and Wichita are finding out just how fun and competitive these leagues are.

“This year, our coed tri-level had three divisions of teams: 6.0-8.0, 7.0-9.0 and 8.0-10.0,” said Dylan Jones, USTA Kansas district league coordinator. “It’s our biggest year ever for registrations, and I think it shows how much players really enjoy this format for playing tennis.”

The tri-level league is played in a flex format, meaning there are no set locations or times for matches. Players and teams discuss options with their opponents and settle on a date, time and location that’s convenient for all parties, allowing players to fit matches into their busy schedules. No doubt that’s part of the reason the league is so popular.

In 2026, the mixed tri-level league is expected to continue growing, and with it, more opportunities for players of all skill levels to get involved.

“I’m very happy that this league continues to grow each year,” Jones said.

In January, Overland Park Racquet Club, a USTA Premier Facility, will host a mini year-end tournament to close out the season.

While fun and, of course, bragging rights are on the line, the tournament will also serve to introduce the club’s new electronic line-calling system. OPRC is piloting this exciting system, which serves to keep the guesswork out of close line calls on the court.

Information on the mini tournament is forthcoming. Tri-level league players will be informed of the official date and time later this year.
